II. How to Select Roaming Network

When selecting international roaming service, the name of local mobile operator or network code will be automatically displayed on the cell phone. If you wish to select some network, you can enter "Network Selection" on the menu and set up the "network selection method" to be "manual". When the network search is completed, then a list of available networks will be provided and from the list, subscribers can select one network. III. Range of GSM International Roaming Service

Currently, CMCC has opened international roaming service with 230 operators from more than 160 countries and regions in five continents. The coverage is still expanding. Till now, except Japan, Korea and some American countries, subscribers can use their own cell phones as long as the countries have roaming service. To roam in Japan and Korea, special cell phones have to be rented in service halls. Operators in some American countries use the network of GSM1900M which requires tri-band cell phone to roam. IV. Dialing method of international roaming

Each operator uses different network dialing method. Usually, for local calls, directly dial the number and insert connecting number of international code or country code of the country dialed for international long-distance call. For example, for dialing CMCC number, dial international long distance connection number+86+cell phone number. V. Standard rate for international roaming

1. International roaming standard rate: the standard rate is decided by operators at the roaming location and each operator has different rate. Visit this website for detailed rate. Due to the variation of standard rate of oversea operator and the fluctuation of foreign exchange rate, the rate is only provided as reference. Please refer to the actual bill.

2. How to save roaming rate: since different operators have different standard rates, you can choose different networks to save roaming cost. Before you leave China, please look up the standard rate of all operators and remember the names of the low-cost ones. Furthermore, manually select the network when roaming.

Service Provided by the International Roaming Service

1. Basic voice function.

2. SMS: except in Japan, Korean and other few countries where you cannot receive/send SMS for the time being, you can receive/send SMS.

3. GPRS and MMS: in the networks which open GPR international roaming service, “Go with E”card + laptop can be used to log on the internet, use www.Monternet.com and receive/send MMS. For the time being, only the network of CMCC is opened and the mobile data service provided by the operators at the roaming location cannot be used yet.

4. Caller identity: for roaming subscribers, CMCC display them incoming calls from 24 countries and regions for free, including Singapore, Thailand, UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy.
