After launching the unified standard rate plan for worldwide range (except Hong Kong) at 0:00 9th June, CMCC released unified standard rate and favorable roaming network rate for Hong Kong region at 0:00 July 1st, 2006. With the new plan, when the subscribers of CMCC roam to some country or region, they can enjoy more favorable rate which can reach as high as 24% off. Currently, 25 networks including CMCC Peoples and Vodafone have launched such favorable network rate, covering 17 countries or regions, such as China Hong Kong, Taiwan and UK.

For the time being, most countries and regions are served by multiple mobile suppliers. Even in the same country and region, the settlement price of roaming service varies with suppliers. The launching of unified standard rate separates the subscription rate and settlement rate. Therefore, when subscribers roam to certain country or region, no matter which roaming network the country or region uses, subscribers enjoy clear and unified rate, helping them to acquire information in relation to roaming expenses and control expenses. Therefore, to better serve clients and help them cut down international roaming phone bills, CMCC is engaged in negotiations with oversea operators. Finally, some oversea operators managed to reduce the settlement price of roaming service. Then, to make sure every subscriber benefit from this achievement, CMCC provides a favorable standard rate for theses networks. Subscribers are gaining real benefits from this campaign. With the further progressing of the negotiations concerning international roaming service, CMCC will provide more quality roaming service and more favorable roaming standard rate for subscribers visiting foreign regions.
