China Mobile has put the Olympic Games in the hands of more than 8 million people who have accessed China Mobile's 'Palm Olympics' platform to receive updates and videos during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Visitors have used their mobile phones to view more than 300 million web pages. On average, mobile phone users are accessing 13 million web pages a day. On the busiest day, 30 million pages were accessed by mobile phone users.

China Mobile custom built the platform especially for the Olympic Games.

The most watched mobile phone video broadcast was the Opening Ceremony for the Beijing Games. Altogether more than 500,000 users watched the Ceremony on China Mobile’s Palm Olympics platform. At its peak 240,000 people were logged on at the same time watching the Opening Ceremony.

The “Palm Olympics” is another way China Mobile is bringing the Olympics to the people. It`s a one-stop service designed for mobile phone users，offering free live Olympic broadcasts of events and news. Visitors can also download Olympic music, an Olympic mobile newsletter and digital Olympic games for their mobile phones.

China Mobile has collaborated with the Xinhua News Agency, sports.cn, sohu.com and other top media providers. Working with these giants of the communications industry, China Mobile is able to provide mobile phone users with real-time, authoritative and timely access to the latest Olympic news and services.

China Mobile is also responsible for creating a mobile phone version of the official website of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games for the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games.
