China Mobile has announced another large donation to the disaster relief effort to help the people affected by the devastating May 12 earthquake centered in Sichuan Province.

RMB 100 million has been earmarked to help rebuild schools that were destroyed by the 8.0-magnitude earthquake. Some of the most heart-wrenching videos and photographs from the quake zone have shown collapsed schools where many students lost their lives.

The donation by China Mobile raises its total contribution to the relief effort to RMB 186.2 million. It has already provided free mobile phone services to victims in the area and set up hotline providing around-the-clock emergency information. The Company has also donated medical equipment, medicines and other materials, including 5,000 tents.
