The 1st CMCC Painting and Calligraphy Competition for National Enterprises

The 1st CMCC Painting and Calligraphy Competition for National Enterprises will soon be held to promote socialism and the construction of a harmonious socialist society and deepen the Guidance on Enhancing Corporate Culture Construction of National Enterprises published by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The competition will also deepen understanding of the corporate culture in the National Enterprises guidelines published by the State Council’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC.) Council. Leaders of national enterprises and administrative organizations, employees and social unions are welcome to take part in the competition which will enhance the spirit of cooperation.

I. Objectives
SASAC started three years ago and since that time, great progress has been made in arranging cultural events at national enterprises. By organizing large events like this CMCC Painting and Calligraphy Competition, the achievements of socialist spiritual civilization and the rich spirit of corporate culture at national enterprises is demonstrated. New media, painting, and calligraphy can help build a rich corporate culture. The cultural lives of employees can be better cultivated through popular and healthy measures which in turn produce a better corporate environment.

IV. Participants
Major participants: leaders of national enterprises, employees, retired employees and dependents, as well as social groups, employees and retirees from departments and managing and subordinate corporations of the SASAC. Leaders and employees from local state assets supervision and administration departments are also welcome to participate.

Organizing awards
Two outstanding awards: 8,000 RMB for each winner
Five awards: 2,000 RMB for each winner
Work awards:
Two gold awards: 8,000 RMB for each winner
Six silver awards: 2,000 RMB for each winner
Bronze awards: 1,000 RMB for each winner
100 outstanding awards: 200 RMB for each winner
100 participation awards: souvenirs will be available

All participating units and work will be awarded with certificates.
Review measures:
Renowned calligraphy and painting experts will be invited to form a review committee and select the winners with the principles of “equality, justness and openness” in mind. The amount of work submitted by companies with independent legal representatives and the amount of awards they obtain in this competition will determine the organizing awards.

VI. Requirements
1. The content and style of the works submitted must be healthy and energetic. The works must uphold the “Two For” guidelines and the principles of “Three Close:” they must be able to fully express the spirit of the time, the spiritual civilization of national enterprises and employees, reflect the achievements of corporate culture, and the core values of the enterprise and its corporate spirit.
2. Each participant can enter no more than two pieces of work which should be original and previously unpublished, without violating copyrights or the rights of others.
3. Before sending work to the committee, all participants are required to write down the name of the enterprise they work for, their name, gender, age, category and type of work carried out, mailing address, telephone number and post code. They are also required to send one photo of themselves and one of their work(s) and attach a personal introduction of 200 characters. If the participants send two pieces of work, then each should be sent following the same requirements. The calligraphy and painting work should be no larger than a 1.33-meter standard-sized sheet. For hard-tipped calligraphy, the size should be no smaller than 16mo and seal cutting should be no smaller than size 6. The art works do not need to be mounted, and narration should be provided for seal cutting and seal scripts.
4. Work and related materials should be sent by registered or express mail or hand delivered to the office of the Organizing Committee. Please write “CMCC Cup” on the envelope.
5. For each art work, a 40 RMB review fee is required. Members of the China Society of Calligraphers or the China Society of Artists are exempt from the charge if they show their membership card.

VII. Attribution of ownership
Art works which win awards become the property of Corporate Civilization Press. Works which do not win awards can be returned to their owners upon request. The request should be made within 60 days of the competition ending and owners are required to pay 20 RMB for postage.

VIII. Copyright of awarded work
1. The organizer, co-organizer, and sponsor are entitled to use the award-winning works on their websites;
2. The sponsor is entitled to compile the award-winning work into a collection or on a disc which they are free to publish;
3. The sponsor is entitled to distribute award-winning work via videotapes in cinemas or on television;
4. Participating in the competition is viewed by the organizer, co-organizer, and sponsor as permission to use the awarded work in the aforementioned ways;
5. The price, certificate, collection, discs, and souvenirs distributed to the participants by the organizing committee and the sponsor are considered as compensation to the participants for using their work. Therefore, participants will no receive any additional payment.
