Up on stage children and families, full of pleasure and dreams, interpret the Olympic motto: “One World, One Dream.”

On April 9th, the campaign “Olympic Families Tour Beijing” initiated by BOCOG’s Media and Communications Department officially started. In cooperation with CMCC, ten families, five from China and five from the rest of the world, will be invited to tour Beijing and the co-host cities one year ahead of the Olympic Games.

Information is available on the official Olympic website www.beijing2008.cn thanks to BOCOG and CMCC. Users can participate in the campaign through the Internet or via their mobile phones. Coca-Cola (China) Beverages Limited and Sohu.com are supporting the campaign all along.

The campaign serves as an illustration of the Olympic slogan "One World, One Dream". Families, with a keen interest in the Beijing Olympics from China and abroad, can keep close contact via the website to better understand each other's culture and enhance the friendship between the Chinese people and the rest of the world. At the same time, the campaign will provide foreigners with a unique opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of Beijing and China, and to see how the 2008 Olympic Games are being prepared.

A bilingual Chinese and English website functions as the main platform for the campaign. Users of China Mobile can send an SMS with the words “JTY” to 200801 to register and vote. 100 families will be selected by June 2007 to go through to the final round. These families can create blogs at Sohu.com, and update the blogs with photos and articles of various themes. Ten families, five from China and five from the rest of the world, will finally be picked for the tour after a one-month ballot among website users and mobile users.

To celebrate the one-year countdown to the Beijing Olympic Games, the ten winning families will come to Beijing to start their tour. These families will watch the “Good Luck Beijing” series events in Beijing, Qingdao and other co-host cities, and participate in a whole host of activities and competitions.
